N the great cause of Foreign Missions, all who love the Lord Jesus may be pri

vileged, in one way or other, to become

fellow-workers, whatever their age or situation in life. The following sketches have been written with the hope of interesting youthful readers, by bringing before them, in a connected order, some of the most striking and picturesque facts of missionary history. If, from the perusal, some young hearts are led to serious inquiry as to what they can and ought to do in obedience to the Saviour's parting command, if more sympathy, more prayers, more active efforts are thus called forth in behalf of the grandest of all human enterprises,-the object of the volume will be attained, and the writer will have cause for joy and thankfulness.

Some readers will recognise these papers as having already appeared in the pages of the Family Treasury. Another series is now in progress, which is intended to include the South Sea

Islands and Hindostan.
